Times and Epochs. Ancient Rome

This year’s Times and Epochs festival is dedicated to Antiquity, the period that lasted for one thousand years, from 5 B.C to 5 A.D. This period was marked by a multitude of dramatic events in the political, military and economic history. The culture of Ancient Rome became a symbol of Classical Antiquity, absorbing the traditions of the Greeks and through them the traditions of the Etruscans. The guests visited the main thematic areas such as Roman military camp and adjoining park with siege equipment, the Bosporan Kingdom – an interesting mixture of Greek poleis (city-states) and Scythian camps, village of the Celts, the German burg – a fortified town of tribes that did not surrender to the power of the Romans, Judea and Palestine — an intersection of Western and Eastern civilizations, at which arose.
